If I could pick only one lens to travel the world with, it would be the Nikon Z 24–120mm f/4 S. It excels in three key areas—focal length range, aperture, and image quality, making it an ideal all-around performer for landscape photography and travel work.
Why does this lens stand out:
• 24–120mm zoom range covering classic landscape focal lengths:
• 24mm for large landscapes with foreground
• 35mm for more balanced views
• 50mm for environmental shots
• 70–120mm for isolating subjects
• Performs like carrying a set of prime lenses, in one weather-sealed, travel-friendly package
• Reliable in harsh conditions, thanks to dust- and moisture-resistant construction
• Lighter and more useful in the field compared to my old Nikon 24–70mm f/2.8, with the extra reach making a noticeable difference on long hikes and multi-day trips
• Since I typically shoot landscapes at f/8–f/16, the weight and cost penalty of an f/2.8 lens just isn’t necessary
This lens is, without question, the best all-around zoom lens I’ve used—and the one I trust on every adventure.
I only recommend equipment that’s proven itself through early mornings, challenging weather, and my tendency to wander off trail for “just one more shot.”
Thanks for helping support what I do.
