I pair this teleconverter specifically with the Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S. It extends the focal length to an impressive 140–560mm with little impact on sharpness. It reduces the maximum aperture to f/6.3–8, limiting its use to good lighting.
It is so small and packable that getting 40% more reach makes it a no-brainer when packing my Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S into my camera backpack.
There really isn’t much else to say; it does the job done.
I only recommend equipment that’s proven itself through early mornings, challenging weather, and my tendency to wander off trail for “just one more shot.”
